Job offer at the perfect time!

I'm absolutely thrilled right now. The job offer I mentioned in a previous thread was fleshed out today. Looks like I am going to be teaching jewelry design at the Michael's Craft Store in Longview, Texas. I will be doing my demo on or around June 23rd and starting my classes after that. I feel like this is an awesome opportunity for me at this point in my career while I am growing my business. I also have a few other stores that I am in negotiations with to carry my jewelry lines and should have some of those pieces in place by the end of June. I am consistently reminded each day that this is the right direction for my life and dreams to go and I couldn't be more thankful.

The front and back of a new lariat piece.

My grandmother's new Heart-Keeper Necklace.

My Mom in her Cinnabar Necklace

and her Turquoise and gold piece.

My Grandmother in her Multi-strand swarovski and silver necklace.
I feel blessed to be following in such strong, beautiful women's footsteps.

Some New Pieces...

These are some fun earrings I made up the other day. They flow really well and are surprisingly lightweight.

Developing a wire wrapping technique and giving myself permission to break out of strict "ideas" about jewelry design is a daily process for me. This is the necklace I was wearing when the manager of a chain craft store stopped me last weekend and offered me job as a design instructor for their jewelry courses. This was actually a necklace I made for myself because I was dealing with some issues in my own life. If you look closely at it you will see that it is two sides of a heart in the wrong place. I think there are a lot of people out there who share the same feeling that you know your heart is in the right place, it's just a little mixed up. I will be offering this focal piece in varying levels from Stainless through Gold so it is available to anyone who needs it.

I adore the combination of coral and turquoise so this necklace is one of my faves right now. There is such a warmth and depth to the piece making it versatile and easy to dress up or down.

I love this piece purely because of its organic feel. I am going through a stage where blues and greens with silver seem to be all I can focus on. I love the feeling that this dragonfly is just hanging around waiting for the right breeze to fly away.

I've joined the 21st century!

I finally broke down and realized that I can't go on another day being the last person in the universe without a blog. I just figured there are too many people out there who can't live another day of their life without being able to hear about the minute details of my existence!

I've finally decided what I want to do and taken the steps needed to get my jewelry design business off of the ground. In fact, things are moving much more quickly than I ever expected. I was wearing a custom wire wrapped piece this weekend at a local large chain craft store and the manager stopped me to look at it. I ended up being offered a job as a training instructor for their weekly courses. It's somewhat nerve-wracking but also very exciting. My goal this week is to go ahead and get some pics up on here.
